Tuesday 9.1 - Arcadia: pick up at 5:00 (speed work repeats)

Below are the times I had for the race. There were approx. 167 runners in the boys race and 114 in the girls race. I will post official times, places and team place for small school as soon as I get them. The girls really stepped it up. Two medals (Ash and Katie) and Jordan was so close to getting one too. I was proud to see both teams running so well with big schools. You should be proud of yourselves.

Little Axe Meet: Thursday August 27th

Runners will be dismissed from class at 2:15. We will leave on the bus at 2:30, so get your stuff and quickly change. Parents please pick your runner up at the race or talk to me about transportation after the race.

The first race is at 4:15
Varsity girls (1.75 miles)
J.V. girls (1.75 miles)
Varsity boys (2.25 miles)
J.V. boys (2.25 miles)

Little Axe High School is located 13 miles East of Norman on Hwy 9. The school is approx. 1 mile East of the casino. The race will start on the football field. Parking is North of the football field at the tennis courts. (These are the directions the meet director gave me....I plan on google mapping it too. :) )

This meet has been around for 19 years.....I ran it when I was in high school. If I remember right and if the course has not changed, the course is wooded and there is a steep but short hill toward the finish. I remember it being a good race and unique course, we'll see. ;)

SNU Meet

I was happy with the first race. Its nice to get first race jitters out of the way, especially on a short course (boys 4K and girls 2K).

Boys team had an awesome race, you exceeded my expectations. Ladies I think those nerves got to us, but it's so nice to see a big group of OCS girls on the line. We'll only go up from here with both teams.

Cross Country T-shirts

Cross country booster t-shirts are available. They will be red shirts with the Saints logo and cross country written underneath. They look sharp and will help out our program. I will be ordering t-shirts or hoodies. T-shirts are $12 and Hoodies are $28. You can email me with your order and sizes. You may send a check (made payable to OCS) with your runner. Deadline to order is Friday August 28th.

From I-44: Exit Warr Acres/Bethany (NW 39th Expressway) and go West past Rockwell to Glade Ave and turn left into parking.

From I-40: Exit Rockwell and go North to NW 36th. At NW 36th turn left, then go to Galde Ave. and turn right into parking.

*University teams race at 8:oo a.m. so stay clear of the course.*

Parents and Runners meet in G103 @ 7:00 p.m. Thursday August 20th.

Friday's Practice

We will meet at the picnic bench between the upper parking lot and the gym. We will start practice at 3:30 so don't delay getting your books together and getting dressed.

We will drive to the dam TOGETHER. You are not allowed to leave OCS and drive to the dam without my knowing. I need to know who is in what car so that noones is left behimd.

After our workout parents may pick runners up at the dam at 5:00 or we will somehow get the runners back to school.

So meet at the picnic bench first where we will stretch and take care announcements then we will go to the dam.

Summer Mileage

Bring your summer mileage written down to me by Wednesday the 12th. After that your t-shirt will not have mileage on it.........how sad........all that work and no mileage t-shirt. You can email it to me mwilson@ocssaints.org or bring it to practice. Either way, I need it by Wednesday the 12th.

Practice Update

Great 10 miler today runners! The lake wind was harsh and the miles were tough, but you did it and I am really proud of you. What an accomplishment, not many people have run 10 miles at one time in their life! Because of all the work you put in over the summer, we have a great base built. Now we can work on speed! Let the repeats begin....I love it! :)

Rescheduled Parents Meeting Thursday Aug. 20th

Oops! I scheduled the parents meeting on middle school open house. So it has been moved to Thursday August 20th. We will still meet at 7 p.m. in the gym building. Sorry about the mix up.

No Practice Thursday

No pratice at Lake Hefner on Thursday. I know I said that we would take Friday off, but due to the rain we will move Thursdays practice to Friday. See you Friday 7:30 at Lake Hefner.

Parents Meeting Tuesday August 18th

There will be a parents meeting for all cross country parents and runners Tuesday August 18th at 7 p.m. We will meet in the gym building. I will let you know which classroom as soon as possible. We will discuss the season, meet schedule and other information about the upcoming season.
